Sarah Smith set up Indigo in 1997 after a career in local government and the financial services industry. She was one of the first in the UK to gain the prestigious Professional Credited Coach qualification with the International Coaching Federation. When Sarah came to coaching, it was a new activity, relatively untried in the business world.  This was an exciting time as coaches built up their skills and began to realise what coaching could deliver over and above training.  Over the past 15 years she has continued with her determination to make her coaching and leadership development deliver robust and credible business benefits to leaders. She has worked with managers in PR and media and run numerous team development programmes as well as offering wise counsel and mentoring to other coaches. She has a passion for unlocking potential, and clients say she brings a rich mix of compassion, challenge and humour to her work.

Sarah is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and a Master Practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP).  She has trained in co-counselling and Transactional Analysis.  She is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) with the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and an accredited NLP coach. More importantly though, her experience and understanding of working in organisations means that she brings a pragmatic and down to earth approach to her work.
